Job Description
Job Title: Migrant Program Coordinator
Reports To: GFESC Director
Days: 240 Day Contract
Primary Purpose:
The Migrant Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating efforts within the cooperative area to research, develop, and offer migrant education programs and related services to GFESC member districts.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
A master's degree with a background in curriculum and instruction
A minimum of five years teaching experience
A valid teacher’s certificate issued by the ADE
Administration certification preferred with supervisory experienceSpecial Knowledge/Skills
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
Exhibit use of presentation and technology skills
Exceptional organizational, communication, public relations and interpersonal skills
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Part 1 - Major Duties and Responsibilities
Must be able to form positive relationships and represent the Migrant Education Program (MEP) in a positive manner.
Must be dependable, organized and able to travel overnight.
Must have a valid Arkansas Education license.
Must be able to create and submit a grant application for the NWAESC through the Indistar program.
Advise Project Districts on budgeting and the MEP grant application.
Collaborate with school districts on registration of students.
Collect Agriculture surveys from districts.
Supervise MEP recruiters and student support specialists.
Monitor and submit travel documents in a timely fashion.
Attend the State of Arkansas MEP conference in Hot Springs.
Attend monthly meetings with MEP state personnel.
Schedule, purchase and provide professional development and monthly meetings for the Project District personnel in the region.
Work with the student support specialist to organize and provide services to Pre-K through 21 year old students who qualify for the program.
Document all activities throughout the school year and submit all required documentation.
Provide and schedule Regional Migrant Student Advisory Council (MSAC) meetings for students.
Conduct MEP monitoring of project school programs.
Submit data/documents for monitoring of the NWAESC program to the state.
Conduct a summer school opportunity for Non-project school district MEP students.
